It was like 30 below wind chill in Chicago this week. Luckily, I didn’t have to be physically at the office. #godbless But working from home can give you cabin fever real quick. The good news is that it gives me time to dabble back into my hobbies. I have several art projects going in the back burner specifically for days like this. I started this elephant drawing a couple of days ago. It’s no where being done, but when it is. I’ll post it. So, if I’m going to draw, I might as well do it in Desi clothes!

These two are my main squeezes, my boos, by babies, my everything. Gaby, the one in the mega hot top bun and statement earring cuffs is my photographer. She paints me like one of those french ladies through the camera. Steph, the one in the super cute peachy pink scarf, is my director. She tells me how to be in BB photos. Without them, I’m nothing. Nothing, I tell you!

It’s been 6 months since this project started. It came as an idea late at night with a conversation among friends. The immense support that this has received even further proves the lack for a supportive safe space for marginalized communities to thrive because it’s no longer just about survival.
I hope more than anything this serves as the catalyst for POC to pursue whatever is that we want to pursue because we deserve that and to carve out a space that is so rightfully ours.

You all probably saw a video that TBG X BB released a few weeks ago. This is the guy behind the direction, production, cinematography, and basically everything else in the video. He also happens to be my younger brother. He had no idea he was going to be featured on Bangle Banger and to be honest, it was impromptu. I want to use this platform to showcase the people how have been supportive of Bangle Banger from the beginning. He’s so talented beyond his years. Maybe some of what Bangle Banger stands for seeped into his style too.
